Princes Club was established as a member's club in the 1950's, originally working gravel pits. As the interest in Waterskiing increased, the membership base and investment grew steadily and soon warranted expansion of the lakes. The club members built their own Clubhouse, changing facilities and organised all the business of membership and the running of the club in general. Soon the doors were open to guests of members, and further to members of the public. Princes Club also ventured into the wider world of health and fitness with its Nautilus Gym and Squash courts, which were all growing in popularity in the early 1980's. The club was also one of the first places in the UK to adopt the Cable Tow in the early 1990's as an alternative to skiing behind a boat. Newcomers to the world of watersports were able to try different disciplnes of high octane sports at new and affordable rates. |
